Due to COVID-19, some projects have been delayed until now. We are expecting to see some projects around Barrhaven this summer and into late fall. The biggest project is the widening of Strandherd and as we get confirmation of start dates, we will have all the details for you.

Longfields/Golflinks Roundabout (current)
Finish: late July/August (landscaping in later fall)
Details:
From now until completion there will be temporary lane closures and or reductions as well as periods when southbound left turns from Longfields Dr. to Golflinks Dr. (south) will not be permitted (OC Transpo busses excluded). The contractor, Cavanagh Construction Limited, is using traffic control devices (barrels) and flag persons to direct traffic through the site and will use the Portable Variable Message signs to advise drivers of changed conditions that are longer duration in nature.
Prince of Wales/Barnsdale Roundabout (upcoming)
Start: Monday, June 12, 2020
Finish: Fall 2020
Details:
There are variable message signs in each direction approaching the intersection advising motorists. Throughout the duration of the project motorists can expect temporary lane closures and/or reductions. The contractor will use traffic control devices (barrels) and flag persons to control traffic, the Portable Variable Message Signs will be used to update motorists on changed conditions. Expect a 8-10 week closure of Barnsdale east of Prince of Wales starting in late June/early July.
