The SCA is pleased to report that work is underway to prepare the ice at Kilbirnie Outdoor Rink. Subject to weather conditions, there could be ice in the next week. Thanks to Andy and Mark for your continued volunteer efforts to keep the rink operational again this winter and to all volunteers who lend a hand throughout the season. Remember to observe the City of Ottawa Safety guidelines for outdoors rinks as specified on the City of Ottawa Website at the following link:
General Safety on Outdoor Rinks: https://ottawa.ca/en/recreation-and-parks/skating/outdoor-rinks
COVID-19 Safety on Outdoor Rinks: Protocols around COVID-19 safety for outdoor rinks could be change this winter. Please be COVID wise and have a mask with you in case it is a requirement. Information provided by Ottawa Public Health and the City of Ottawa will be posted at the rink when received by the SCA.
We are also looking for additional volunteers to help out with the Kilbirnie Rink this winter. High School students are welcome to volunteer and the hours you contribute can count towards the 40 hour community involvement graduation requirement. The SCA will gladly sign off on your volunteer hours. To volunteer, send us an email at volunteering@stonebridgeca.com and an SCA representative will follow-up with you.
