Meet the Board of Directors

Jay McLean
President

Jay and his wife Tina, with their two young boys, have been Stonebridge residents since 2008. Jay was born in Ottawa and has been a resident of Barrhaven for over 35 years. Jay has over 20 years experience in IT solution architecture and enterprise system delivery with specialization in biometric solutions. Jay worked for numerous private and public sector organizations before starting his own consulting business in 2001. Jay and his family love the game of golf, and moved to Stonebridge to be close to the many wonderful aspects of the game. In the role of President since 2014, Jay is passionate about ensuring the longevity of the 18 hole championship Stonebridge Golf Course and the thriving Stonebridge community. Jay played a lead role in efforts to protect the future of Stonebridge greenspace also serving as a member of the Stonebridge Working Group. Jay has managed the Stonebridge ‘Just for Fun’ Soccer Program for community kids aged 3-9 since he joined the association in 2013. Jay was the recipient of a Canada 150th Inspiration Award in 2017 for his volunteer community service.

Mike Kujawski
Vice-President

Mike and his wife Erika moved to Stonebridge in 2014 and have been in love with their home and gorgeous community ever since. They have 3 young kids, two cats, a dog, and both work full time while actively volunteering on various boards, which keeps their day-to-day schedule quite lively. Mike runs his own niche management consulting and training business (Centre of Excellence for Public Sector Marketing CEPSM.ca), where he specializes in helping government and non-profit organizations be more effective in how they engage and communicate with the public on major national initiatives.  Over the past 20 years, Mike has worked with hundreds of organizations in Canada and internationally across 4 continents.  Mike joined the Stonebridge Community Association (SCA) in 2018 and was also an active member of the Stonebridge Working Group (SWG), which helped to fight for and secure the future of Stonebridge greenspace. When not working or spending time with his family, Mike enjoys running, swimming, mountain biking, reading, photography and meditation.

Josie Barraco
Treasurer

Josie and her husband Sal have been living in Barrhaven since moving from Montreal in 1980. They enjoyed living in the area very much so after a three year posting to Washington, in 2010 they moved to Stonebridge. They have two daughters and a son currently living in the Ottawa area and 4 grandchildren. Retired in 2013 from the federal government where she worked in financial accounting. Josie also worked for Bell Canada and MRI Consulting, the consulting firm that was responsible for building the beautiful new Ottawa Airport. Josie is responsible for managing the SCA budget.

Jessica Lumsden
Secretary

Has over 15 years of experience in the public and private sector focused on advocating for child and youth, regulatory compliance and policy.  She has worked at senior levels in the Ontario provincial government and the private sector preparing and interpreting policy and regulations related to child and youth care, brain development, and learning models. She has sat on both committees and on boards. She is currently a Director for a large local non-profit. She has an honours Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Seneca Algonquin College, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from York University, and has trained in Personality Dimensions. She born and raised in the Toronto area, and moved to Ottawa and Stonebridge in late 2020. She was profiled the May issue of Stonebridge Magazine, the Mother’s Day issue, and has 2 young sons: one is almost 3 years and one is 3 months.

 

Renuka Holman
Director – Parks and Environment

Renuka and her husband have been residents of Ottawa for over 12 years with the last 5 being in Stonebridge. She really enjoys coming home to this lovely community after working downtown in her management role with the Public Service. Renuka brings more than twenty years of professional work experience in the areas of sales, marketing, outreach, and partnerships in both the private and public sectors. Having grown up in Montreal, she has lived in several major Canadian cities but has decided to settle in Ottawa because of how much she enjoys living in our beautiful capital region. A proud mother of two busy teenagers, she also enjoys cooking, traveling, event planning, and volunteering to heighten and foster a sense of community. As such she looks forward to her continued contribution to the Stonebridge Community Association.

Cyrille Raoul
Director – Communications

Cyrille is a dynamic and accomplished professional with a career that spans international borders and multiple industries. With a solid foundation in law and a fervent passion for business management, Cyrille brings a unique blend of legal acumen and strategic leadership.
His academic journey is a testament to his commitment to continuous learning. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Administration at the University of Sherbrooke (Canada) with a concentration in Management and Leadership, Cyrille’s commitment to academic excellence is unwavering. This Ph.D. follows his successful completion of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (M.Sc.) at the same institution, where he specialized in Marketing Management.
Cyrille’s educational journey began with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with a major in Economic Analysis from the University of Manitoba (Canada). His academic pursuits extended globally as he furthered his legal expertise with a Maitrise en Droit (LL.M) from the University of Poitiers in France, specializing in Droit des Affaires et Carrieres Judiciaires.
However, Cyrille’s remarkable career is not limited to his professional life. Since 2012, he has made his home in Stonebridge, where he shares a fulfilling life with his wife and two children. His dedication to community involvement and leadership, exemplified by his volunteer work with the 25th Nepean Scout Group and his keen interest in a potential communications position with the Stonebridge Community Association, is a testament to his commitment to making a positive impact on his local community.
In summary, Cyrille’s life story is a testament to unwavering determination, intellectual prowess, and a relentless pursuit of excellence in both his professional and personal life. His journey continues to inspire all those fortunate enough to cross paths with this remarkable individual.

 

Colin Lumsden
Director – Membership

Brings 25 years of leadership/management, M&A, and operations experience in global education technology firms. He has held senior roles in Marketing, General Management, Business Development and Account Management in large public and private organizations including Pearson, 2U, ApplyBoard and has also worked at York University as the Director of Continuing Professional Education. He is currently the VP of Business Development and Partner Success at Springboard, a US based education technology organization focused on technical skills development. He has a Diploma in Business Administration from Algonquin College, a Bachelor of Commerce from TMU, a Masters in Organization Leadership from Norwich University, and is pursuing his PhD in Higher Education and University of Toronto. He was raised in Ottawa and moved back home after 20+ years in Toronto, moving to Stonebridge in late 2020. He was recently a volunteer coach at the SCA’s Summer 2023 “Just for Fun Soccer” program and was profiled in the May issue of Stonebridge Magazine. He has 2 young sons: one is almost 3 years and one is 3 months.

 

Dion Williams
Director – Software Administration

Family is at the core of my life, and I am fortunate to share it with my loving wife and two wonderful children. Since 2019, we’ve embraced the vibrant community of Stonebridge as our home, creating lasting memories and connections. I am an established Mortgage Professional with a deep commitment to helping individuals and families achieve their homeownership dreams. When I’m not immersed in the world of mortgages, you can often find me shooting hoops with friends and fellow enthusiasts. I’m also an avid golfer, enjoying the challenge and serenity of our local Stonebridge golf course.

 

Kenneth Kangwu Xi
Director – Safety & Security

Dr. Kenneth Kangwu Xi is a distinguished professional deeply committed to community engagement and possesses a rich and diverse skill set. With a Ph.D. in Business Management from Carleton University, an MBA from Georgetown University, and an MA in Political Science from the University of Regina, he brings a formidable academic foundation to his work. He also holds the CFA designation.
Kenneth’s commitment to public service spans 16 years, with a remarkable career in the federal government. He has made contributions to academia, serving as an instructor for over a decade at institutions such as Carleton University, Algonquin College, and the University of Ottawa. He has several papers published in peer-reviewed academic journals.
Kenneth and his family moved to Barrhaven in 2004 and made Stonebridge their home in 2012. He is married with two children, demonstrating his commitment to family values and community well-being.
Kenneth is a dedicated volunteer and passionate advocate for community. He has been actively involved in various initiatives, including serving as a member of the Community and Fundraising Team with the Barrhaven Food Cupboard, acting as the Community Representative for the Ottawa-Carleton Assembly of School Councils, and organizing 2 to 3 youth teams annually for the Ottawa International Dragon Boat Festival. Kenneth has also served as Team Treasurer for the Maverick Club and a member of Colonel By High School Council, further demonstrating his commitment to community service.
Driven by a deep passion for improving the well-being of the Stonebridge community, Dr. Xi would be an invaluable asset to the Stonebridge Community Association (SCA). He is ready to make a meaningful contribution in the areas of safety, security, development, and transportation by serving on the Board of Directors, leveraging his expertise and unwavering commitment to the betterment of the community.

Ann Miller
Past Secretary

Ann and her husband moved from the GTA to the Ottawa area in 2017. They instantly fell in love with the Stonebridge community where they purchased their home. Ann has been enjoying retirement following a long and successful career in sales; having represented an international airline, large printing papers distributors and most recently having worked in the capacity of financial security advisor for a large insurance company. Her interests range from cooking and gardening to writing and communications. Travel is high on her list of preferred activities; as is time with her two adult children who have also moved to the Ottawa area.

Craig Ceppetelli
Adopt-a-Park Rep – Kilbirnie Park

Craig and his wife Natalie have been living in Stonebridge since 2003 and have seen the neighbourhood grow and thrive. The parks and golf course bring a unique element to the neighbourhood, along with the proximity to many amenities. Craig moved to Ottawa to attend university and returned following a short time living in the United States. A father of two kids and a golden retriever – Craig wants to make our neighbourhood safe, clean, and a place where we can all enjoy the outdoors.

 

Hanna Guty
Parks & Environment

Hanna and her husband Bobby bought their first home in 2022 and knew that Stonebridge would be an idyllic community to settle in. They love being so close to the Stonebridge trail and WC Levesque Park, and make frequent use of the golf course. Hanna graduated from UOttawa with a Master’s in Health Sciences and worked for many years in sales within Ottawa’s tech sector. She’s since moved her sales skills over to the world of real estate, where she works with mainly sellers in the west and south ends of the city. She enjoys participating in her community wherever she lives, and looks forward to many great years in Stonebridge!

Nick Polegato
Past Director at Large

Nick and his wife Sabreena moved to Ottawa while serving with the Canadian Armed Forces in 2018. Shortly after, they bought their first home in Stonebridge and fell in love with the quiet community. Nick has since retired from the military to pursue his passion of entrepreneurship, starting businesses in Real Estate and Digital Marketing. Nick’s military background taught him to live a fit lifestyle, prioritizing training, fitness and pushing himself to complete challenges like marathons and triathlons. He also shares his love of health and fitness through educating on social media about living a healthy life and teaching how to cook healthy meals.

 

Niraj Singhal
Advisor

Niraj, his wife and three daughters have been proud Stonebridge residents since 2009. After serving a 5 year term on the Stonebridge Community Association’s Board of Directors from 2010-2015, Niraj rejoined the Board in 2018 as a result of the Community’s concerns over proposed new residential development on the golf course. He is an active supporter of the Community, and a firm believer that families that opt to make Stonebridge home are choosing to make an investment in both real estate and quality of life.
It is a community unlike any other led by a strong Community Association, proud residents and the most valuable and picturesque real estate in Barrhaven.
