W.C Levesque Fields

levesque parkCreated in January 2003, the Parks & Recreation Committee's mandate is "to ensure the Stonebridge community has a voice in, and to carry forward initiatives related to the  development of the parklands designated by the City of Ottawa  for the recreational enjoyment of Stonebridge". A Playground Committee created in March that year oversaw all decisions relating to the purchase and installation of play structures at both W.C. Levesque Park and the Tot Lot on Golflinks Drive.

W.C. Levesque Park is located on Riverstone Drive and spans more than 24 acres running along the Jock River.  The park consists of a large play structure, four swings, a gazebo and four soccer/playing fields. The play structure and swings, at a cost of $21,000, were paid for from City funds along with a donation from Alti Construction. An additional $9,000 in playground equipment was installed thanks to the generous contributions of the residents during a door-to-door fundraising campaign that was matched by the City. In September 2003, Stonebridge's allocation of the Nepean Legacy Fund purchased and installed the gazebo at a cost of $20,000.

The Park has four soccer/playing fields with Fields 1 & 2 considered "premier cricket fields" and soccer fields 3 & 4 being smaller but great for other activities such as ultimate Frisbee. Throughout the spring and summer months, residents can enjoy watching a practice or game of soccer, cricket or ultimate Frisbee. To receive play schedules or if you are interested in joining one of the teams please visit the following sites: Ottawa Carleton Ultimate Frisbee , Ottawa Valley Cricket Council, and Ottawa South United Soccer.

The Tot Lot is located at the corner of Golflinks Drive and Calderwood Way. This park presently consists of a small Little Tikes play structure and spring toy costing $10, 000, paid for with City allocated funds and installed in October 2003.
