For 30 years, Barrhaven United Church (BUC) has been providing Barrhaven with inspirational worship services, superb music by senior and junior choirs, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Prayer Groups and adult Christian education. In 1993, BUC partnered with the provincial government to create Barrhaven Non-Profit Housing Inc. It offers more than 40 affordable rental units at Steeple View Crossing to many people, including seniors, those with disabilities and those with environmental sensitivities. When a need for emergency food services became evident within the community, BUC took on the role of setting up and maintaining the volunteer-based crisis food distribution service that became the Barrhaven Food Cupboard |
