As crews are already working on Jockvale as part of the Manotick Local Improvement Sewer Project, they have been provided with additional funding to include the intersection upgrades to their work.

The intersection work will include:

1. Jockvale Road - construct an eastbound left-turn lane with a protected left-turn signal, and construct paved shoulders and bicycle pockets in both the westbound and eastbound directions.
2. Rideau Valley Drive - construct bicycle pockets in both the eastbound and westbound directions.
3. Prince of Wales Drive - construct bike pockets in both the northbound and southbound directions.

The community will benefit greatly from this work as the construction of an eastbound left-turn lane on Jockvale Road will separate the through and left-turning vehicles approaching Prince of Wales Drive, which will in turn, reduce delays and enhance traffic flow.

The construction is expected to be completed before the end of the 2009 construction season
