Southwest Transitway Construction

Ottawa – March 3, 2010 – Progress update on the important transit connection of the Southwest Transitway Extension.  Construction activity has begun within the Marketplace Mall and as this project continues over the coming year, a number of detours within the mall will be required.

City engineers have assured the Councillors that proper notification will be given for these detours as they occur and alternate routes will be available.

The Southwest Transitway extension is an immense project as it involved the passing of the Transitway under Strandherd Avenue and up into the Marketplace Mall.  Strandherd Drive will remain open during the construction with temporary lane adjustments in place near the Transitway and a reduced speed zone.  Read more...
